Acne is something that is not easy to live with. It can cause others to make fun of you and can leave permanent scaring on your face and body. Use the tips from this article to learn how to better deal with acne, and clear up your skin in no time.
Curing acne is easily accomplished by using a topical benzoyl peroxide solution found at your local drugstore. Benzoyl peroxide essentially uses a mild bleach-like chemical to reduce redness and in addition reduces the oil clogging your pores. It is completely safe, though it may dry out your skin, in which case you should ration the amount of benzoyl peroxide you use on a daily basis.

Many women already know that cucumber slices can help get rid of bags under their eyes. But, not many know that it can help clear up acne as well. Grate a cucumber and apply it to any affected areas. Then sit back and relax for about fifteen minutes to let it do its work. Then, wash it away.

If you have acne and long hair or bangs you need to keep your hair away from and off of your face. The oil in your hair will get on your face and cause or contribute to any breakouts. It's also best to wash your hair at least everyday and also after working out.

A paste of baking soda can be used to treat oily skin and reduce acne. Simply make a paste of baking soda and water, and apply to problem areas to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, dirt, and oil. Be sure to use baking soda, not baking powder, as baking powder can actually burn the sensitive skin on your face.

To get rid of your acne, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as nuts and seeds. You can do this easily by having a smoothie with breakfast and eating a salad as a side dish with lunch or dinner. Brazil nuts are also great for controlling acne, as are pumpkin seeds.

To prevent acne, avoid touching your face with your hands during the day. Hands are rarely sterile so every time you touch your face with them you are transferring dirt and bacteria onto your skin. This dirt can then block pores and the bacteria can infect the clogged pores causing acne outbreaks.

Lemon juice can help to lighten red marks caused by acne. Use the juice of a fresh lemon, applied to a cotton swab, directly on the mark. You can dilute the juice with water or honey if desired. Doing so helps to dry your pimples and reduce redness.

Consider using supplements to help with your acne problem. Despite our best intentions, we do not always get the vitamins that we need for clear skin because of a variety of factors. Take the time to research supplements that have been known to help individuals with acne and give one of them a try.

You have learned many different ways to deal with acne. Make sure that you know your skin type before applying anything, you do not want to accidentally cause a break out when that is what you are trying to get rid of. Have patience, nothing that lasts happens in one night.
