Keeping good care of your skin is important. Your body's largest organ protects your insides from temperatures and physical contact with things you don't want inside of you. Not only is it important to your health, but also a way to stay looking great at any age. Read on for some tips and tricks to make the job easier.

If you have severely dry skin on your hands, it can and should be treated with an antibiotic cream, like you would use on cuts and scrapes. In many cases, extremely dry skin crack open and bleeds. If these cuts are ignored they can become worse - leading to scarring or even an infection. Care for them early by applying an antibiotic cream before applying moisturizer.

One way to reduce acne breakouts is to take burdock root. Burdock can be taken in supplement form or as tea, both of which should be done about three times a day. Burdock root will help purify the blood by removing toxins, which will result in fewer acne breakouts.

You can make a gentle homemade exfoliate for your oily skin. You will need lemon juice and sugar for this recipe. Get a bowl and the ingredients. Mix a couple teaspoons of the lemon juice and then add a bit of sugar to the bowl. Take a cotton ball and dip it in your exfoliate. Gently scrub your face with it in a circular motion.

If you have oily skin, don't use moisturizer. This is the equivalent of using butter and mayonnaise on a sandwich: one is oily enough. On the other hand, you may be oily all over with a few dry areas, generally near the eyes or on the cheeks back near your ears. In that case, apply moisturizer only to the dry areas of your face.

If you have oily skin, do not avoid moisturizer in your daily skin care regimen. Just put some moisturizer on before your make up. You may feel as if your skin doesn't need any moisturizing, but appropriate products will help balance the oil production of your skin. If you have oily skin and then you dry the skin out with very harsh cleanser, you will make matters worse.

Good skin care is more than just regular bathing. If you know a few pointers and keep up with them habitually, you can make your skin look great and stay healthy for years and even decades to come. Keep in mind what you have read here and your life and skin will be fabulous.
